This was going to be a four day White rim trip but we scrubbed for fear of rain that had been forcast all week and we all decided to go down and a couple of day rides instead. Eric, myself, Carol, Diane, Jeff, Scott, Packer, Keith, Belinda, Jim, and Tommie had two great days of riding well they were more like adventures on mountain bikes. We made it down with not a second of light to lose had a celebration beer and headed off to the Moab brewery. After dinner the musically inclined all brought down their instruments and has a great jam session at Jim's friend Jason's house who lives down in Moab.
Our first day in moab we made it to the top of Klondike bluff and hike up to the overlook of arches we were just in time to see the sun start going down. Needless to say it was a cold ride down with hardly any light (that set the theme for the weekend).
Three hot chics ready to ride porcupine rim.
Packer making sure his bike (butt)is ready for the ride.
On the ride up porupine we kept passing patches of snow on the side of the trail. This is a great picture looking over at the La Sal mountains.
We made it to the overlook on porcupine rim trail up hill all the way. Stopped for lunch and a few photo's.
Keith and Belinda (Belinda's smiling because she loves her bike clips sooo much)
Look at the six pack on that guy. Jeff was calling Scott back at the hotel to get the football scores.
Tommie wins the award for best wreck (I was behind her and saw it happen) and she had the bruises the next day to prove it.
Jeff showing us all he can still go off jumps!
Overlooking the Colorado river at this point we were wondering "are we there yet" we were losing sun fast and there seemed to be alot of "hike a bike" going on but the views were absolutely breathe taking.
The sun going down on the red rock was beautiful.
We survived two fun filled and tiring days in Moab with a great group of friends. It was nice to get to sleep in a warm bed instead of in a tent with 30 degree temperatures.
Keith disrupts the packing so the boys can have one final jam before we have to head for home.
